T-Man's Place on Four Mile Bayou was
Owned and Operated By: Ervin & Selma Bailey

T-Man's Grocery and Bar is located on Four Mile Bayou nine miles after you cross the Pontoon Bridge at Stephensville La.  It was started by T-Man's dad in 1938.  T-Man (Irvin Bailey) worked with his dad until he and his wife Selma took the place over in 1945.  From 1954 to 1974,  T-Man ran the School Boat bringing the children of the bayou to school every day.  He also for a while delivered the mail to the people on the bayou.  All of the materials needed to build the home and buisness out on the bayou had to be hauled there by boat.  There was no road to them and their only means of communication then was a radio to the Morgan City Police Department.
Below are a few pictures of T-Man's Place as it was then.
